I’ll leave the writing to the wordsmiths among us, but some photos from the meet.
An eclectic mix at Spa
That looks familiar (potato pic - sorry)
Apologies for taking photos whilst driving - not cool - but in my defence i was the last car in the que and i was unlikely to meet oncoming traffic - so have some Spa lap photos:
Kemmel straight
Downhill into Pouhon
Fagne / Pif Paf
The corner before Blanchimont
And Blanchimont itself.
Bus Stop
La Source
Into Ear rouge
And fanning out onto the Kemmel straight.
More group shot fun - Including 4MuddyFeets increasingly duct taped VRS
And some of TwingoTamers fruity parking...
Couple of shots from the museum at Stavelot
And now, my personal highlight of the trip - a tastefully modified Peugeot 206 found in Stavelot town centre:
Parked up at the campsite.
And the Advance party at the Nordschleife - sitting in the carpark at Pflanzgarten.
Thanks to those who did a stellar job of organising such an epic weekend, and allowing us all to just turn up and have a really relaxing fun weekend mucking about with cars.
Heres to EuroOppoMeet 2018!

Oh god i didn’t see the front of that 206...
Me and Clemzie McKenzie had a theory that Stavelot is redneck America, replete with tractors pulling trailers blaring odd music and big american pickups...

Really looks like a blast fellas, glad you enjoyed yourselves! :D Who owns the little Suzuki at the end and what is it? The model isn’t coming to mind? Kudos if it went on the ‘Ring! :D

I think if that’d come to the ‘ring it’d lap us all. Think of all the downforce that front lip must make!

Its a Suzuki Ignis Sport and I think it did indeed go on the ring? though not 100% sure as I had to leave quite early to get my eurotunnel home.

No he didn’t go onto the Ring, although he did reach the Ring parking lot. The Ring closed again and he left to catch his (train/ferry?). The Ring opened again about 10-15 minutes after he left, which was our queue to start our cars and wait in line.

It’s the carnaval season. Apparently. It’s where those odd nosed images refer too. Apparently. It’s still on their website as I write this:
http://www.laetare-stavelot.be/en/
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
8:00 p.m. : Ball at the Abbey , free entry into heated tent . Purely carnivalesque atmosphere animated by Denis Léonard.
8:30 p.m. : Night Procession of humor and light
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
2:00 p.m. : Grand Parade of 515th Laetare Stavelot with 2,500 participants. The magic of the show appointment with the public Rondeau des Blancs- Moussis (Place St- Remacle , at the end of procession ) The afternoon until evening : Podiums at the Abbey , fanfare, harmonies and Bandas
9:00 p.m. : One of the biggest fireworks in the area!
10:00 p.m. : Nuit Blanche des Blancs- Moussis in the cellars of the Abbey with Bandas and Orchestras .

And many of the same people ;)
But Uly, feel free to hop by next time. The air fair will be expensive, sure, but you’d be welcome.

Shame! The Ignis is based on the Suzuki Kei and I don’t mind those little things! :P

Now that would be terrifying to encounter if you’re not expecting it...
I like how they use the word ‘ animated ’ by Denis Léonard. Being animated is what happened to Frankenstein’s monster...

The website has FR DE EN NL buttons on top, for translations. Quite helpful. While I don’t speak (much) French, I do speak the other languages. In Dutch they use the same word as in English. The German version uses “Karnevalistische Stimmung”, which means “carnival mood”. That makes sense, although when seeing the pictures your English translation might be a better translation.

That’s me! Yes, it’s an Ignis Sport. Gutted to miss the ring, I didn’t want to risk getting outside of the allowed lateness for the eurotunnel, as I still had a 3.5 hour journey on the other side and work the next day!
The route to the ring was perfect Ignis material- nice tight little roads, much more fun than motorways, where it’s not very happy at 80+ mph.

Shame you missed it, pics of the little fella tootling around the ring against Porsches, etc would’ve been pretty amusing! :P
